I did a little retail therapy over the past month. I had rewards at H&M and Torrid, and a gift card for Old Navy, so I put them to good use. I still have Super Cash for Old Navy that is good for the end of February that I'm already deciding on what to get. That'll probably be mostly for my husband, though. Long live the stores with points and rewards programs! I also took advantage of the after Christmas sales and clearance sections. I'm a "check the sales tab and click low-to-high prices" kind of gal. Can't relate to those that ain't! 😂
I thought about putting my "What I Got for Christmas" post up today, but I wanted to get this one up before it. A lot of these things are still available, if you see something you like! I'll try to get the Christmas post up next week along with my January favorites. I mean, it's already been over a month, so what's a few more days? Nice to see my procrastination on posts has carried over into 2021. I'll work on fixing that...tomorrow maybe.
- Sweatshorts - I have black and olive green pairs already. So comfortable and great quality.
- Polar Bear Pen Holder - This was sold out for a long while and came back. Had to get it! IYKYK. I'm hoping to upgrade my desk area this year. My current setup is just on an old Ikea table.
- Black Sweatshirt Dress - I'm so ready to wear this with some leggings or tights.
- Coca Cola Bear Sweatshirt - Tacky? Yeah. But I couldn't resist. I was 100% tempted to get the matching leggings. It's just for lounging, so let my tacky self be. I did it for the bears and we all know it. 😄
For Torrid, they were offering $20 shipping to Canada and I made one order. Shipping still hurt, but it's better than the typical $39-48 shipping they normally charge. I love those rare times they offer free shipping - I pounce on those! The Nightmare Before Christmas underwear came to me with the band on upside down. Torrid was quick to gift me a $10 reward to use on my next order after I mentioned the mistake (which I did not ask for, I just wanted to make them aware. Really nice of them!) and I had another reward from my previous order, so I combined those for a second order which basically covered the shipping.
- Fuzzy Slippers - Soft and fluffy! I do worry that as I wear them, they'll become a bit too big on the foot because they are already looser in fit.
- Quilted Mules - Nicely padded and so different from anything else in my shoe collection.
- Mickey Mouse Loafers - A little stiff, but I'm hoping they will soften as I wear them. So cute, I couldn't resist!
- Striped Cardigan - I'm so glad I ordered this. I love longer cardigans. The pockets are placed just right, the shape is flattering for all shapes, and it's warm. I did size down. I have loads of cardigans, but the waffle knit texture on this one differentiates it from my others. It was between this one and the solid brown one, but stripes won in the end.
- Plaid Pants - These fit like a legging and I sized up for more comfort after reading other reviewers saying the same thing. Sizing up was just right. They have a snug waist band and I think my normal size would have been more uncomfortable for daily wear. This is my first pair of plaid pants since like middle school and they are a bit nostalgic for me in that way. Doesn't hurt that they were under $10!
- Frenchie Boy Short Undies - I typically hate the boy short fit, but Torrid usually gets underwear right. This shape and cut isn't that bad or uncomfortable as I originally feared. These little Frenchies are precious. And also, the lace is not itchy.
- Nightmare Before Christmas Boy Short Undies - I hate that mine came with the band and writing upside down, but only two people see them. 😉 It bothers my perfectionism more than anything, but not enough to let a good pair of underwear go to waste. I got these because of Zero. Hardly anything ever has Zero on it.
I had a gift card for Old Navy that was burning a hole in my pocket. I could have waited until my Super Cash goes into effect and used it then, but I had a feeling what I got would go fast because I was already seeing sizes sell out before I placed my order. I wasn't wrong!
- Sherpa Lounge Jacket - I had a sherpa jacket on my Christmas list, so that was the first thing I added to my cart. This color is so pretty in real life and I can't stop feeling the jacket because the texture is everything you want in a teddy sherpa jacket. It's warmer than you'd think too, as I've been able to wear it out and been just fine here in winter in Toronto.
- Fleece Pajama Set - I love pajama sets, but I rarely get them. Old Navy's fleece and I go way back and I know it never lets me down. This set is cozy and warm and easy enough to wear as separates if I so choose. With it being fleece, there is little stretch. I sized up, because I like my pajamas to fit a little looser.
- Leopard Tunic - Can't find this print in stock anymore, but they still have others in the tunic style. This length is great for jeggings and leggings. I thought this would specifically go well with the pleather leggings I got in my last Old Navy haul. I can't say no to a good leopard print and I'm so happy to have this in my closet.
Now I just need to be able to go outside again for more than just walking the dog. One day. We'll get there! For now, Toronto is still in lockdown into February Have you gotten anything recently? Are you still buying for winter or are you looking ahead to spring? I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe and healthy!
