We recently went away for a quick two night trip. I'll go more into where and why we went in my next post where I'll share places we ate and things we did. It wasn't exactly our choice to get away, but we were kind of forced into it with construction in our building. We did do it as wisely and cautiously as possible, spending the majority of our time in the hotel room or in outdoor spaces and with masks. If you're going to enjoy a vacation, there's no one saying you can't, only saying how you should.
Anyway, even wearing masks, I still like to put in an effort on some days. I find myself amping up my eyes and cheeks more now, since that is what is seen. Anyone else? The bottom half of my face still gets a little action, but I don't give it nearly the same amount of attention. Haha! Here are the items I packed for the trip, inside my old Glitzy Glam makeup bag. Anyone who watched Elle and Blair during their heyday on YouTube should remember their store! Years later, I still adore this bag. So well made and has gone on many trips with me!
- VDL Setting Mist - Not my favorite mist that I own, but it is the smallest and most convenient to pack!
- L'Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara - It's been hot and humid, so I've been focusing more on waterproof makeup and what can last through not only the weather but while wearing masks. I like this, but not as much as I like the regular formula.
- MUFE Full Cover Concealer - HG for like eight or so years and forever a repurchase. Nothing lasts and covers like this stuff. If anything, I wish they'd add more shades.
- Neutrogena Bright Boost Moisturizer - It's not my favorite from the Bright Boost line, but it has SPF and it's so much easier to pack double-duty items.
- Fresh Rose Petal-Soft Lip Cream - Easy to pack! It's the current lip balm I am going through. It's nice, but I think it is overpriced.
- Juvia's Place The Nudes Palette - I made two Juvia's Place orders and it's all here. I have them swatched and ready to post when I finish testing them more. This one is a perfect size to take along on trips. I don't want to say too much right now, but a review is coming. It was between this one and the Physicians Formula Tropical Days palette, but I wanted to try having more of a difference of brands to experiment with!
- Physicians Formula x Weylie Butter Face Palette - So happy to have this! My friend Vanessa helped me in my search, because it was rather difficult to find it in stock. I also have this swatched and ready. I don't want to spoil it, but I get the Butter formula hype. I totallllly get it.
- ELF Putty Primer - When I reviewed this, I couldn't find it anywhere here in Canada. Now Shoppers has it! And there's another formula that I need to try. Such a great primer!
- Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink in Loyalist - One of my most viewed lip products I've talked about on here! These last through everything, even mask wearing. It's the easiest way to throw on a color and not worry about it at all.
- ELF Eyebrow Kit - So cheap and works just as well as any of the other more expensive eyebrow kits. There's a shaded wax and powder and the included applicator (which works pretty decently - a rare occurrence).
