Who else is late to the Christmas shopping party this year? I had to wait to make sure we could make the trip down south a reality. Once it did indeed become a reality, I've been in overdrive getting my shopping done. My family is bigger than my husband's, so it's been a lot of list making, deal checking, and online searching! I think I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with only three or so little gifts left. My mom, stepdad, and brother are all done and that was my main goal! Granted, we still have to buy some gifts for the people up here, but luckily we can focus on that when we get back to Toronto. How about you? Have you finished already?
Because it never fails that Christmas comes around and I find myself having to buy a last minute or unexpected gift for someone, I thought I'd put together a list of ideas for that very purpose. I usually even have a pile of random gifts set to the side so that I can grab and go, be it a birthday or holiday!
- Personalized Ornament ($17 CA) - We actually have this exact one on our tree from last year. Our main Christmas tradition is getting a new personalized ornament for our tree. We've gotten one since our first Christmas together in 2004. It doesn't have to have the names, just personalize it by something they like. Ornaments are such a fun and thoughtful gift, even if you're grabbing it last minute! By the way, the Winnie the Pooh one below was gifted to me and it's a favorite of mine. I love Disney and my nickname since birth is Wendy the Pooh. :)
- Candle ($34.50 CA) - Candles are always well received. I've never turned my nose up to a candle...except to sniff it. ;)
- Throw Cushion ($34.50 CA) - I'm almost certain that there is no such thing as too many pillows or blankets. Even better when the pillows have fun sayings! This one is neutral enough to suit just about any decor.
- Entertainment Gift Certificate ($ varies) - Netflix, Spotify, whatever they enjoy. This gives entertainment and lessens their monthly expenses. What's not to like?
- Variety Set ($29.50 CA) - A little set like this is always fun!
- Framed Memories ($16 CA) - Try to find a picture of you and the recipient, buy a pretty frame, and you've got yourself a thoughtful gift for someone. Last minute? They'll never know!
