I don't mind hosting, but I'm kind of excited to not be doing so this year. Going home this year, we just didn't want to go all out with decor and worry about party planning. Next year is fair game, though! It was a smart move on our part, because it's been something else trying to get everything ready for the trip to South Carolina.
If like us, you're going elsewhere for all of your Christmas gatherings, perhaps this will give you a few ideas on what to take as a gift for the ones opening up their home to you. I also highly recommend food to add to the offerings, because who isn't excited when more food shows up?! As always, I kept it to a budget. All of these ideas are under $50!
- Marble Board ($34.50 CA) - I got this one from Chapters and it was listed the other day, so you may still be able to find this specific one. I did link to another board as another type. The sky is the limit, because there are many pretty options out there!
- Cheese Knives Set ($39.50 CA) - How fun are sets like these?!
- Tray ($28 CA) - Even better? Stock this tray with cookies or something equally yummy and you'll be a party hero.
- Recipe Book ($35.95 CA) - Entertaining books or cookbooks are a favorite. If they're more into a different hobby or topic, a coffee table book on that subject is a nice personal touch.
- Wine ($18.95 CA) - Am I biased for Two Oceans because I've worked with them before? Possibly, but it's also a pretty great wine at a decent price point. A perfect choice for taking to a party (for the adults in attendance, of course).
- Brie Baker ($20 CA) - Brie is amazing, but have you tried it baked when it is ooey and gooey? THE BEST. And it's about to become even easier to make when someone has this in their kitchen!
