This is my second Pixi item ever, actually. My first was the Milky Mist, which I absolutely loved to the last drop and the only reason I haven't picked up another is due to wanting to finish my current face sprays first. I enjoy watching RachhLoves on YouTube and when she started showing this palette that she made in partnership with Pixi, I was sold. Well that, and I just can't say no to a good highlight.
So if you're intrigued about it and want to see my swatches, this is the post for you!
I like the variations of shades in this palette. It really feels like it lives up to "The Layers" title. Being unfamiliar with Pixi makeup formulas, I was unsure of what to expect. I find the formula to be smooth and easy to apply, pretty decent in pigmentation, and doesn't seem to accentuate my pores or dry skin. Works well with any blush I've tried it with! It has lasted all day on my skin.
I find Knit to be too dark for a highlight on my fair skin, but it looks so pretty layered with brown and taupe eyeshadows. I think my favorite combination would have to be Clutch topped with a light swipe of Zipper. While Zipper doesn't look like much on it's own, it shines as a topper. Lace as an inner corner highlight on the eyes? Superb. For my main highlight, I'm all about Clutch. I haven't used Tee on my face too much, but it makes a pretty eyeshadow. I think that's what I like most about this palette, the versatility. You can make so many different combinations and use them in a myriad of ways!
Also, I'm down with the shade names. I appreciate a good fashion nod! Is this an absolute must-have? No, not if you necessarily have a lot of highlighters already in your collection. Yes, if you want a palette that can give you a lot of bang (and glow!) for your buck. I do have a lot of highlighters, but I still feel like this gives me a little something extra that the others don't. The level of personalization that you can achieve with this palette is exceptional.
