Burt's Bees All Aglow Opal Mist and Bronze Splash

By the time you read this, I'll be back from vacation! HOME for the first time in over six years. I wanted to get down for Mother's Day to surprise my mom, but of course my passport didn't arrive until the Wednesday after. So I told her that her "gift" was late due to "delayed shipping". I'm scheduling this post, so at the time of writing it, I haven't left yet. I can't wait to see her face and hug her and the rest of my family. She won't know until I show up in the driveway, as long as my stepdad can keep the surprise a secret. I didn't allow myself to look at this trip as a real possibility until my passport arrived and now I can't stop smiling and shaking with excitement!

And tomorrow is my husband's birthday, so we are celebrating his special day/weekend right after we've gotten back into town. Busy busy busy! I'll be back to my regular schedule the 27th and I'll probably need double the coffee to get back to reality. I'm okay with that!

If you saw my last Burt's Bees post, you know that I wasn't swept away by the Goodness Glows foundation. It just was not for me at all! Today, I am showcasing the All Aglow Highlighter in Opal Mist and the All Aglow Bronzer in Bronze Splash.

Opal Mist Highlighter
This is quite nice. Subtle, but nice. This isn't going to give you a crazy glow, because Burt's Bees is all about taking the natural approach. I do like that it is very creamy and easy to glide across the skin, probably thanks to the core that consists of jojoba oil, coconut oil, cupuacu butter, and daikon radish extract. I'm always down for a dose of jojoba or coconut oil. The glow is more like a shimmer rather than a glitter bomb. It works on my fair and dry skin, but I can see this getting lost on darker skin and just looking oily rather than glowy.

Bronze Splash Bronzer
It swatches darker, but I swear I don't know where it goes once it is applied. That's saying something since I have fair skin and usually it all shows up. This not only lifts off other facial products, it blends into nothing. I have a hard time seeing it, but I can't go too heavy because it's a little too orange-based for my liking. I can't win. I go light and see nothing and if I try to go heavy, it would look horrible and whip away most of my foundation. For me, this one just doesn't cut it.

You can buy these online or find them at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. Have you tried either of them? I would love to hear if they worked for you or if you had the same problems as I did. I hope you're having a great week. See you after my vacation!
