I was sent two Sir Kensington sauces to try from Chick Advisor- their Mayonnaise with Avocado Oil and the Special Sauce Remoulade. The recipe I'm sharing today works perfectly with either, but my favorite pairing is with the Special Sauce. If you're like me, the minute you hear "special sauce", you think of a burger from a specific fast food chain. And this one gives it a run for its money and dare I say that I like it more?!
Below, you can find my review of both products and my recipe for a low carb cheeseburger casserole. Obviously, you can enjoy this even if you're not doing low carb. I hope you'll try all three out!
I've been wanting to try an avocado mayo for a while as an added way of getting in healthy fats. Well that and I love avocado everything. There's a little bit of lime, just enough for an added tang but not enough that it messes with my sensitivity to citrus. I've been adding it to burgers, sandwiches, and homemade dressings. It's pretty subtle once it's on a sandwich or in a dressing. I think this one is very versatile.
Special Sauce Remoulade
I'm a sucker for a special sauce. If a menu item says special BBQ sauce, dressing, whatever...I'm ordering it. I'm the same way if I see anything with "southern" in the title as well, just a random fact about me. This is the perfect topping for a burger. I honestly haven't used it in any other way, because that's just where it really shines. Topping the casserole below with it is like getting an A+ on a test. I do think it would taste great on any meat, though. It can easily be a one-and-done type sauce where you just don't need to add much else. I added a little into the cheeseburger casserole and topped it with a bit more once it was plated. So delicious!
Sir Kensington's sauces and mayos are made with free-range eggs and they also offer a few eggless mayos that they call Fabanaise. They have ranch dressings too and I would be lying if I said that I didn't need to try that Pizza Ranch. Yes, please! You can see where they are sold around your location here.
With this recipe, it's super easy to customize. Don't like onions? Omit them. Want pickles? Dice them up and throw them in. Whatever you like on your burger, make it happen. I've made this so many times and I've changed it up on just about every go. You can't go wrong! I feel like winter is the season where casseroles really shine, especially of the comfort food variety. I'll make it year-round, but it just seems to taste better on a cold winter night and as leftovers the next night!
