It's been so long since I've done a dupe post. But I've got one for you today! When I first got Rimmel London's Trendsetter lipstick, it reminded me a lot of MAC's Velvet Teddy. And Velvet Teddy is one of my absolute favorite lipsticks! So I thought I would put them to the test side-by-side in today's post to see how close they resemble each other. Let's find out if we have a dupe on our hands or not!
I won't go too in depth about each individual lipstick because I did that in their posts. I'll admit that when swatched on the hand, they are quite a few shades apart. They are a little bit different on the lips, as well. But it is not very noticeable! I wouldn't say Trendsetter is a spot-on dupe, but it is darn close. I do prefer the creaminess of Velvet Teddy, it glides on a little easier.
I would say if you do not want to spend on the MAC lipstick ($23 CA), Rimmel is the way to go (around $8 CA). The difference is very subtle and you still get a gorgeous brown nude that will work on so many different skin tones with either choice. And both smell delicious too, just a random note I thought I'd add for good measure.
Do you have either of these? I'd love to hear about what you think about either or both!
