Hello San Francisglow! by Benefit

This set is still available, but I'm not sure that it is part of their permanent line. I don't think it is, but every product in the set is. So if you're interested in this set, you still have a chance to grab it! I actually won this from Hello Canada magazine when they were doing a few Christmas giveaways. Yay!

This set includes minis of Benefit's Dandelion Twinkle, Watt's Up!, Dandelion Shy Beam, and High Beam. All very different highlighters and in different formulas. If you're interested in hearing what I think and seeing my swatches, just scroll below!

Hello San Francisglow retails for $35 CA / $26 US. It comes in a super cute snow globe shaped tin. As a collector of snow globes, I was probably a little too excited about that detail. I thought it would be a pain to open, but there is actually a groove at the top to pull on.

The tin is a great touch, but it's also a bit annoying in that they chose to glue in the Dandelion Twinkle powder. You can take everything else out. I don't know about you, but I am least likely to grab for this tin just to use the powder. I do wish they had included it in a flip-top compact like the Watt's Up! cream. I have a few of their blushes packaged like that from previous times, so it seems like something they could have done.

Watt's Up!
This is a cream-to-powder formula. I did have this in a miniature version of the stick packaging somewhere from ages ago. I love how creamy the formula is. It's still a little too much for my fair skin and personal preference, but I love it around and on the eyes. It is a perfect champagne, kind of a creamy version of Urban Decay's Sin eyeshadow (my all-time favorite champagne)!

Dandelion Shy Beam
This is in liquid form and comes with a nail polish brush type of applicator. It is not my favorite kind of applicator by any means. This one is very light and subtle. On my fair skin, this doesn't work as a highlighter at all. That can be a good thing, because it actually works pretty well for brightening up areas on my face. It might offer a better sheen on darker skin.

High Beam
One of my absolute favorite highlighters! Again, I don't quite care for the applicator. I actually had a tube that they released with a doe-foot applicator forever ago and it was so much better. Seriously, I still think about it. Bring it back, Benefit! I always have High Beam on hand. High Beam is sooo pale-skin friendly! It offers an amazing glow with no glitter and has looked great with every blush I've paired it with.

Dandelion Twinkle
I have the original Dandelion powder, but had never tried the Twinkle version. Benefit says it is a nude pink, but it comes off more as just a nude on me. Might just be because of my skin and its pink under tones. It looks super natural, but is very subtle. Benefit recommends layering it with Watt's Up to up the glow. I might have to try layering it with some of my other highlighters on that note. I might have to do some wrangling and get it out of the tin, so I'll actually reach for it... The brush that it comes with is nothing special. It will do in a pinch, but I prefer to use my own.
