Toronto Beaches Jazz Festival as a First Timer ft. Two Oceans Wines

I had the privilege of FINALLY attending a day of the annual Beaches Jazz Fest in Toronto. I've been here for years and never went, but I see why it is a popular event! When I got the opportunity to attend thanks to Two Oceans, I jumped at the chance. I went on the very last day, which was probably the hottest darn day I could have chosen. Thank goodness for the shade of the Two Oceans tent!

I thought I would share a few pictures from my day and share my thoughts about going for the first time! You've probably seen a great deal of these if you followed along on my social media (THANK YOU!). So let's get to it!

I was sent this lovely bottle of Moscato and stemless wine glasses along with my wristbands and passes. The wristbands were to get into the VIP area. Entrance into the general admission area is always free! I was also given two food and (alcoholic) drink passes to enjoy during my time at the fest. Two Oceans Wine is a sponsor of the Beaches Jazz Fest.

We got there about 45 minutes before the first main act to ensure that we got good parking. We paid $4 in a lot that was only about a four minute walk away. Highly recommend getting there early! I had never been to Woodbine Park, but it's a rather nice area. There were plenty of trees and flowers. From where we were in the tent, I could see the top of the CN Tower poking through.

The food tent had burgers, potato salad, and fruits. You could eat as much fruit as you wanted and there were unlimited waters and sodas. And with the hot day we were experiencing, we took full advantage. I don't think I had any issues reaching my water intake that day! There were plenty of other options available for food and drink outside of the VIP area. There was a drink hut that served the juices of watermelon, pineapple, and coconuts in the actual fruits that was getting a lot of rave reviews. I saw one girl with a huge roasted corn on the cob that looked amazing.

I took a backpack to carry my program and necessities in, because I just find that easier to deal with. My main essentials were my S'well bottle which was filled with ice, sunscreen (current one is Odylique- review coming), and sunglasses (heart shape is optional). I also packed my anti-bacterial gel and a backup battery charger for my phone. I wanted to pack my little accordion fan to keep cool, but it broke at physio the day before. How rude. If we had been sitting in the sunny area, I probably would have packed an umbrella and my picnic blanket. There are some seats, but they fill up during the busier hours. Also packing a cooler would be great too so that you have food and drinks, if choosing not to purchase any.

We saw one solo singer and three bands perform, all bringing something different to the mix. One band was an African and Latin combo and one was more blues. And even though it was hot and I don't personally know how they could possibly stand it, there were a few people dancing. I was sweating just watching them! One older lady was really getting down and having the time of her life. If I even had half of her moves and energy...

Around the time of the fourth act, my husband took our drink tickets over to redeem them for two glasses of wine. And we slowly sipped while enjoying the music before grabbing our stuff and heading home. It was a fun day- who can say no to a day full of music, food, and drinks?!

I'm definitely going to be looking at the social media pages of Two Oceans, because they have some recipes online. And I'd love to find a fun new way to enjoy my bottle of Moscato. You can find them on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook as @TwoOceansWineCA.
