Is NYX Iced Mocha a dupe for MAC Satin Taupe?

This is another one of those dupes I saw floating around on Pinterest. Since I have both products, I decided to see for myself. NYX has since redesigned their eyeshadows and it looks like Iced Mocha has either been discontinued or renamed. They do still offer the Iced Mocha jumbo eye pencil, which I still have for swatching purposes but have misplaced it somewhere. It's the same shade, only in a cream formula. Okay, in the pan they do look a little similar. I'm not sure where the dupe thing originated, though. Honestly, I do not see it. Both are taupes, but Satin Taupe is slightly darker with more of a metallic sheen. Satin Taupe is easily my favorite MAC eyeshadow. I love it for those days that I just want less hassle and still look put together.

Iced Mocha is a great lighter taupe and the jumbo eye pencil makes an awesome base, but dupe for Satin Taupe? No way. It is gorgeous in its own right and now that I've pulled it out for this post, I realize how underused it has been. Time to change that! I'm not as quick to use an eyeshadow if it is not in a palette. Anyone else like that?
