Thought I'd share a few pictures from my trip. :) I'll also talk about the cabin we rented and the company that we booked it through. Gatlinburg holds many special memories for me. It's where I had most of my childhood vacations, where my husband and I had our first trip together, and where we got married and honeymooned. It was great to be able to go back for the first time since we married there in 2006!
After our trip, we went to South Carolina to spend the holidays with my family. I won't be sharing those pictures, as I'm not comfortable putting pictures of my family on my blog unless I have their permission. With that said, all of these photos below are from our week in Gatlinburg, TN.
^ Our little cabin. It's called A Poolin' Around and Cabins For You is the company that rents it out. It was easy to book online and they were quick to respond to questions. I was impressed that they even went as far as to decorate the cabin for Christmas. We even arrived to a card and two candy canes on the table waiting for us.
^ The cabin is right on the Little Pigeon River. If you look in the top right of this picture, you'll see a little dip in the stones. That's a staircase that takes you right down to the water. I bet that would be fun in the summer! With the cabin being so close to the river, it was lovely to fall asleep and wake up each morning to the sound of the running water.
^ The best part of the cabin is the swimspa. It is 8'x15' of pure addiction. The shallow side has the seats and jets and the deep side is a 4 ft. deep wading area. It is inside the cabin, so there was no freezing getting in and out. A Poolin' Around was a fantastic place that we were happy to call home for six nights!
^ We didn't actually go into WonderWorks, but I had to take a picture of the facade. An upside down building! Too cool!
^ The new Titanic Museum. This isn't usually my kind of thing, but my husband was really looking forward to it. This was his choice of the attractions, so in we went! I have to say that I really enjoyed myself. They had it all set up in rooms to go along with the stories, rare photos, actual artifacts, etc. There are only two locations of this museum, but it is definitely worth a visit!
^ With my husband choosing Titanic, I had to make my choice of which attraction I was most interested in. Though we saw it on our honeymoon, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to the Ripley's Aquarium again. Especially since they now have penguins and a limited-time shark exhibit! I got thisclose to a penguin and I did not want to leave. :D
^ Me and my husband on our trip. ♥
If you are into cabins, mountains, and rustic areas, I would highly suggest looking into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. There's a reason why I always look forward to going back! There are so many attractions, shopping, and such good food. :)
