I love the idea behind this new launch by Almay! They took the quad format, but made it with one shade in four different finishes. It's pretty darn genius and you're guaranteed to have a cohesive look no matter which ones you choose to use. I was sent the one in Pure Gold, Baby to test and review. I already have my eyes on some of the other choices like Own It and The World is My Oyster. They are all so pretty- see them here!
You get a shade offered in matte, satin, metallic, and glitter (more of a shimmer). It's fun because you can actually make quite a few different looks by changing which ones you use or you can wear any of them separately. Each are a decent sized square, allowing plenty of room for your preferred application. I prefer brushes and had no issues.
Formula wise, the matte one needs to be built up to make an impact. The others swatch and apply easier with less work. I find them all easy enough to build upon. I haven't tried doing this yet, but I bet the metallic and glitter shades would look amazing foiled! Pigmentation could be a little better on the matte and satin, specifically. They lasted all day on top of a primer. I do think these quads are a great affordable option and perfect for those that like more of a monochromatic look.
You can find these at most drugstores and Walmart for under $10 CA. Have you tried these yet or do they interest you? Let me know!
