I had to get these in my latest order. Had to. I missed out on the first batch and I did not want to miss out again. Cat Nap and Puppy Love are from ColourPop's collaboration with NKLA. Working with Best Friends Animal Society, all proceeds from these shadows go to their fight to end the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters. They are working to make Los Angeles a no-kill city in 2017 with the NKLA initiative. #SaveThemAll
Getting one or both of these shadows at $5 US each means you're helping with a donation of $5 or $10 US and you get a pretty eyeshadow in the deal. It's a win-win for your conscience and your vanity drawer. Both Cat Nap and Puppy Love are still available for purchase at the time of this post. Below are my swatches. To read further thoughts on the ColourPop formula, I went into more detail on this post.
Cat Nap
Cat Nap is described as an icy rose gold metallic. I have heard people having problems with the color payoff, but I have no problems with mine. It's definitely glittery so if you prefer subtle shimmer or matte looks, you may not find reasons to wear this often. I think this would layer perfectly over a solid base on the eyelid, if you are having problems with the opacity or want a little more bang from the glitter. I experienced very little fallout with the glitter and it lasted all day.
Puppy Love
Puppy Love is described as a pearlized creamy pink with golden sheen. I think this one is more versatile than Cat Nap and easy to fit into any look. With the opacity and sheen, I see this working on any skin tone. A nice sheen to the lid or inner corner highlight, this works great for both. I also feel like it is pretty unique. At the top of my head, I can't think of another eyeshadow like it in my collection. This also lasts all day on me. Honestly, my affection for this shadow may be more than "puppy love".
Each shadow in this collaboration has a little paw print on the lid as an added little touch. Both formulas are vegan and can last up to a year when opened. As with most ColourPop products, make sure to close these up tight to keep the formula from drying out. I am really happy to have both of these in my collection and do recommend them, but Puppy Love is the standout if you're only wanting to purchase one. These are considered limited edition again as far as I know, so get them now while they are still available if you're interested. And as stated above, all proceeds go to the charity. Isn't that fabulous to see? It's so rare to see "all proceeds" on anything!
