ColourPop Cosmetics, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! One of the reasons has to be their quality lip products! I love the Lippie Stix, so I had to try their liquid lipsticks. I got one Ultra Satin Lip formula in Echo Park and one Ultra Matte Lip formula in Bianca.
I'm so tempted to put in one more ColourPop order before the year ends to take advantage of the shipping, but I don't know. I'm trying to be good. TRYING. Key word. We'll see. Anyway, here are my thoughts and swatches on Echo Park and Bianca!
Okay, so I have mixed views on these. I do mostly like them. They throw me off because the tube color is completely different than the shade you get in swatching and wearing. Once again, I don't find the ColourPop swatches on their site to be very true-to-life. I do know things swatch differently on most people, but even if I use MAC's Lip Erase (highly recommend that product, by the way!) I still can't get these to show up even remotely close to what is shown. Also, I must stress exfoliating and moisturizing before using these if you have any dryness. They accentuate everything. I do prefer the Lippie Stix to them, but these have better lasting power for longer days and fewer touch-ups.
Ultra Matte Lip in Bianca - They say it is a "soft mauve". It's more of a dusty mauve on me, so not that much of a difference. I do wish it had been like the online swatch, though. My main beef isn't with the shade, but just how drying it feels while it is on the lips. Staying power is pretty decent and I even had a hard time getting the swatch off of my hand after the photos were taken.
Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park - Wow. The color I get when swatched is completely different than the "warm peachy nude". I get the warm peach, but the nude took a backseat. I really like this color and I don't have many lip colors in the peach family. I did prefer this formula to the Ultra Matte and did not find it as drying. Staying power was about the same, at about seven hours for me. I like the slight shine it has when dry.
Top is Echo Park and the bottom one is Bianca. |
