I'm so sad today to hear that Shirley Temple passed away. She was an integral part of my childhood. My grandmother grew up watching her and passed down the tradition to me. I had so many of Shirley's movies on VHS and watched them over and over. She was easily one of my favorite actresses growing up and I still cite The Little Princess as one of my favorite movies. So many good memories of sitting on the living room floor and getting immersed in this little curly-haired girl who always stole the show. If you've never seen one of her movies, you should. Your heart will melt.
Today, I finally have my review and swatches of the Naked Basics palette from Urban Decay. You've already heard me sing praises on here, Instagram, and twitter...so we already know that this is going to be a positive review. But seriously, it's worth talking about!
Venus - The only shade to have a sheen, a soft white.
Foxy - A yellow-based nude.
Walk of Shame - A nude with a hint of pink undertones.
Naked 2 - A great matte taupe.
Faint - A nice basic brown.
Crave - A matte black.
Four of the six shades are exclusive to the palette, with only Foxy being available in other forms (single pan, Naked 2). Love that both yellow and pink skintones are represented with Foxy and W.O.S.! Sometimes I find matte shadows hard to blend and work with, but these go on smoothly and blend like a dream. I love the packaging. It is sturdy with a rubberized feel to it, but I don't find that it gets dirty as easy as similarly packaged NARS. There is a mirror, as well.
I don't think I would say that this replaces my original Naked as my favorite, but it sure is the one that comes the closest. And they work perfectly hand-in-hand together!
