Hiatus for Turkey Break

Currently thinking: what all to pack
Currently freaking out: about flying...it scares me!!!
Currently feeling: stressed out

Well guys, I hate to do this...but I have to take a hiatus until around December 1st. I'm heading home for Thanksgiving. Plus, I really need some R&R. With the passing of our cat, I think it will be nice to get away and get my mind off of everything. See you all on the internet when I get back! :)

What's In My Purse Wednesday

Currently listening: Honesty by Beyonce
Currently missing: Ginger (our cat) passed away today
Currently feeling: sad

So I thought I would give you all a little look inside my purse. This is what I was carrying on Sunday and it actually changes quite often. =P I usually carry my black Marc by Marc Jacobs Totally Turnlock Tote, but sometimes you gotta change it up a bit!

I've been carrying my brown doctor's satchel bag from H&M that I bought last year.

Coach Wristlet, coffee sleeve from Cup Couture (I don't use the cardboard sleeves at Starbucks! Every little bit helps. :D), Country Apple anti bacterial gel from Bath & Body Works, Roots wallet, reporter Moleskine for shopping lists, Marc by Marc Jacobs pen, Pooh notebook for random lists and notes, Starbucks Vanilla gum, Roots and Hello Kitty ID card holders, Hello Kitty band-aids, dental flossers from my dentist, Brush-Ups, collapsible cup, paper soap, Skull Candy earphones, purple chopsticks, and Coach mini-skinny with keys. I don't just normally carry chopsticks. I was going to go for Japanese food for lunch that day, but actually ended up going to Rainforest Cafe.

My 16GB 1G iPod Touch with sock and my LG enV2/Keybo

5 gum, Sephora mints, La Senza fold-out brush, Marc Jacobs heart mirror

Balmshell lipgloss, Sephora makeup eraser, Dior lipgloss, Dior Kiss lipgloss, Clinique compact, pill capsule holding Benedryl and stomach pills, Body Shop lotion sample that I carry instead of a big thing of lotion, Body Shop strawberry lip balm, Sharpie (never know if you might meet someone famous to get an autograph! :D), Cover Girl eyeliner, Aleve, Pink Cake chapstick from My Lip Stuff (amazing...please check it out!), C.O. Bigelow mint gloss, Buckeye that was my aunt's that I carry for good luck, and a hair clip.

beret that my MIL knitted for me and peace scarf

Not pictured: my red Kodak M883 camera used to take the pics :)

That's all for that day. I might do this again later on. =]

Totally Random Tuesday

Currently thinking: that I hope Ginger is ok at the vet
Currently listening: Thank You by Dido
Currently feeling: crampy =/

It's a crazy week and I am so stressed out. One of our cats is not doing well and is at the animal hospital for a few days. =/ We're hoping she will pull through, but it is too hard to tell right now. And this Thursday or Friday, I head back home for Thanksgiving. So just a heads up that this blog will be going on hiatus next week while I'm gone! Anywho, I thought I would share some recent purchases that I got on Sunday. :)

Old Navy

Top Row: blue bears shirt, pink bear and hearts shirt, green pocket tee
Bottom Row: purple tee (this one has the 3/4 sleeves, but I got the long-sleeved one), cyclamen button henley, tank tops (instead of the greenish yellow, mine is more golden)

Miscellaneous

I have a thing for polar bears. I got this cute snowglobe and mug at Indigo (basically the Canadian version of Barnes and Noble).

I also got these at Indigo. It was Customer Appreciation Weekend, so I went crazy in there. :) I have loved Shel Silverstein since I was a little child. I could not pass up getting the anniversary collection of Where the Sidewalk Ends with 12 new poems in it! I love UK magazines. They cost a little extra, but I'm hooked. And well, I adore Victoria Beckham. I have a slight major obsession with Rachael Ray, which most people think is weird. I had to get the Posh Word Search book to carry in my purse. I cannot turn down word searches. Haha!

I got the white headband at Claire's. I bought some Almay liquid eyeliner. At Sephora, I bought myself a eyeshadow smudge brush. I was going to get the Marc Jacobs Daisy Necklace also, but they were sold out. =( Canada finally got a Bath & Body Works which just recently opened. I got a PocketBac in Warm Vanilla Sugar, Midnight Pomegranate soap, Winter Candy Apple soap, and the Midnight Pomegranate spray. I did not picture it, but I talked about it in my last post...I bought myself some Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers!

On top of all that, I managed to get Christmas gifts for four other people. I warmed myself up with an excellent Eggnog Latte from Starbucks. I had amazing cheesesticks and a meal at Rainforest Cafe. And I finished the day with ordering in Greek food. Opa! I think that is pretty much it. =) Now, I have to go get ready to go downtown for dinner and a concert. I have a floor seat for The Killers show tonight!

Makeup Monday

Currently browsing: Old Navy and Sephora online
Currently reading: UK Glamour w/Victoria Beckham on cover
Currently feeling: under the weather

So my friend Mel and I talk about everything under the sun...and one of those things that we talk about is how we still love Bonne Bell. I think it is this addiction that you just never grow out of. It reminds me of happier times in my childhood. I think my favorite flavor is Dr. Pepper (which I just bought again yesterday!). I do love the strawberry too! They make so many different ones now, but I tend to stick with the classics. You can't fix perfection. Tell me...What's your favorite Lip Smacker flavor?

Fresh Friday

Currently watching: The Rachael Ray Show
Currently reading: In Touch
Currently feeling: contemplative

I went shopping a week or so ago to Old Navy and got a few goodies. I'm actually going shopping on Sunday downtown, as well. Sunday is our Santa Claus Parade, so I'm waking up early enough to grab a holiday coffee at Starbucks and get a place by the road to freeze my butt off to watch the parade. :) Afterwards, it's time for sushi at my favorite Japanese restaurant. And shopping, possibly a movie, and taking a stroll through the decorated streets. If that does not put me in the holiday spirit, I don't know what will! I will make a post next week of things that I bought.

Oh and I may be the only one...but I love the new Gap Holiday commercials. :D

blue fleece capris with a little deer on them, purple moose print tee, purple banded shirt, purple v-neck pocket tee, mustard sweater, royal blue sweater

And every single piece of clothing is amazingly comfortable. And the $10 sale was my best friend! I got every single thing for $10 or less. And that, my friend, is why this girlie loves Old Navy for casual pieces.

Tremendous Thursday

Currently listening: Better In Time by Leona Lewis
Currently drinking: diet Pepsi
Currently feeling: energetic

The Country Music Awards (CMAs) aired last night. I'm not the biggest country music fan ever, but I have a select few that I enjoy. I watched last night and a lot of people made the right fashion choices. Some should have put more thought into it. Like Reba...I love her...but velvet dresses (especially floor-length) have not been in fashion since at least the early 90s. =/

Carrie was co-host and changed outfits about 7 times. These were two of my favorite dresses that she wore.

Julianne Hough. She annoys me on DWTS, but I don't mind her music. And she looked absolutely gorgeous last night.

Taylor Swift looked amazing in her sparkling ensemble. I can't think of too many people that could pull that off. Reese Witherspoon looked like she should be going to the Oscars and that's a good thing. And then, you have my cousin...Yes, he's really my cousin. Josh Turner. He looked very dapper and casual chic.

Shania Twain is going through a divorce and this is one of her first public appearances in a long time. I really think that looking so good after a divorce is the best revenge. She's beautiful! I can't wait to hear some new material from her. Hootie! Darius Rucker has turned country and it works for him. And I don't want this to come out the wrong way, but it is absolutely great to see another African American doing some country! Charley Pride is the only country singer that comes to mind.
Jewel looks ok...but her dress looks like it is hugging her girls a little too tightly. Kellie Pickler, is that even you? What have you done to yourself? I know you got your girls plumped up, but what about your face? It looks like a possible nose job and some botox?

Wacky Fashion Wednesday

Currently listening: Love Lockdown v. 2 by Kanye West
Currently thinking: I should call my mom.
Currently feeling: like a bad headache is coming on

So with this edition of wacky Wednesday, I bring you the Beckhams. I'm concentrating more on Victoria's shoes than I am David's whole horrible ensemble. Seriously, how do you walk in those and not fall on your face or have major arch pain in your foot afterwards?!

Totally Random Tuesday

Currently watching: 90210
Currently drinking: smartwater
Currently feeling: like I ate way too much pizza for dinner

I absolutely adored this Natalie Portman interview! She was on David Letterman last Friday. She did not really have anything to promote, so they showed some dancing robots. :P The best part is her impersonation of her grandmother when they had a discussion about politics. It's worth watching based on that alone. :)

Media Monday

Currently eating: graham crackers and applesauce
Currently drinking: smartwater
Currently listening: Go by Kelly Clarkson

I love the new 90210! I've watched every week so far. I'm hopelessly obsessed, mainly because of Jessica Stroup and Jessica Lowndes. Those two are great to watch on TV! Is anyone else watching it? It's become a guilty pleasure. :)

Friday Five

Currently have a song in head: If I Were A Boy by Beyonce
Currently annoyed: that I don't get support when I need it most
Currently feeling: lonely

There used to be a website called The Friday Five where they would give you five questions and you'd answer them and post them to your own journal. There is a community on LJ that keeps that spirit alive. So I'm going to answer this week's five! :) And please feel free to answer them yourself in my comments. I'd love to hear your answers!

1. Could you live without your phone for 1 week for $500?
yes, absolutely
2. Whom do you talk to on the phone the most?
my husband
3. Whom do you no longer talk to on the phone but wish you still did?
I don't talk to my cousin Kim that much. It's not that we're not close, she just has limited minutes and I don't want her to use them up by talking to me!
4. If you could get ahold of one celebrity phone number, whose digits would you want?
Kelly Clarkson, hands down. With Natalie Portman being in second.
5. Do you talk on the phone more or less than you used to?
I've never really been a phone person. I guess with texting and everything now, I probably talk more these days.

Timeless Thursday

Currently waiting: for my husband to get back so I can go shopping!
Currently listening: Indiana by Jon McLaughlin
Currently feeling: hot...where is the Fall weather?!

Time for Timeless Thursday! One piece of timeless clothing would be Burberry's classic take on trench coat. Audrey Hepburn made it famous in Breakfast At Tiffany's. Recently, Blair wore one on Gossip Girl in a scene reminiscent to Breakfast At Tiffany's. One of these babies will set you back around $1300+. At the moment, I can only afford one of these in my dreams...but what a fabulous dream it is!

Worried Wednesday

Currently reading: November's Cosmo
Currently listening: Low by Kelly Clarkson
Currently feeling: tired of hearing about the election

Ok, so I am extremely worried about Versace. Not Donatella, but her daughter. Allegra has a history of anorexia and went to treatment for it. However, I really don't think that treatment worked. Her arms and body still look extremely frail and tiny. I hope that she is still getting help or she is going to waste away. It would be horrible for something like that to happen. You would think owning such a large share in the Versace clothing line would be enough reason to get better!

Manic Monday

Currently watching: Tyra Banks Show
Currently working on: NaNoWriMo
Currently feeling: blahhhh

Just another Manic Monday! Today is my husband's grandmother's 90th birthday. Can you imagine living that long? What an amazing feat!

Just want to share some of my recent purchases from Old Navy. I will not be able to get it all until I go home for Thanksgiving, since that is where I had it shipped. Old Navy should ship to Canada. We have stores here so it only makes sense that they would, but apparently they don't yet. =/

blue henley tank, blue striped cami, bordeaux lace cami, purple lace cami, striped green henley tank, gray tank
blue babydoll top, purple babydoll top, purple henley, bordeaux sweater, blue fleece pullover

green cardigan, blue shawl cardigan, purple/pink peacoat, bordeaux moccasins, and black sherpa boots

I know that a lot are around the same colors, but I like to do that when buying in batches so I can combine them easier. So far I can count eight different outfits I can make with all of them. :) I don't have many of these colors in my wardrobe right now, so I wanted to broaden the spectrum. The best thing is since these will be at home for me, I can pack light when I head down!
